The VBC Market

Terms of Service

Terms of ServicePrivacy PolicyDisclaimers

Effective August 8, 2026. These terms are between you and Timothy Bryan Reichard ("we", "us"), who runs The VBC Market (the "Site").

By using the Site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Site.

1. What this Site is

The VBC Market is a classified-advertising and want-list service for vintage baseball card collectors. It does two things:

When a listing matches something you want, the Site tells you. That is the whole of what it does.

2. What this Site is not

We are not a party to any transaction between members. We are not a broker, an agent, an auctioneer, a consignee, an escrow service, or a dealer. We do not:

owns it, or that any transaction will complete.

Every sale is a private transaction between two members, agreed and paid for away from this Site. The money never passes through us. We charge no fee and take no commission on anything you buy or sell here.

If you record a completed sale on the Site, you are reporting something that already happened elsewhere, so that the price guide has data and so that you and the other member can rate each other. Recording it does not make us part of it.

3. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into contracts. You sign in through your Facebook account, so that other members can see who they are dealing with — this is a marketplace between named people, and an account you cannot put a face to is the thing it is built to avoid.

We may require an account to be approved before it can post, and we may refuse or withdraw approval.

One account per person. Do not share your account, and do not create an account for anyone else.

4. Your listings and your want list

You are solely responsible for everything you post: that you own the card, that it is described accurately, that you may lawfully sell it, and that the price and condition are stated honestly.

You must not post:

plainly and prominently;

By posting, you give us permission to display what you posted on the Site, to include it in match notifications to other members, and to keep confirmed sale prices in the price guide after the listing is gone. You keep ownership of your own content.

5. Dealing with other members

You deal with other members entirely at your own risk. We do not vet members, verify identities beyond a Facebook sign-in, inspect cards, or intervene in disputes.

When you register interest in a listing, the seller's contact details are shown to you and the seller is told you are interested. From that point the exchange is between the two of you.

Before you send money to anyone, satisfy yourself who you are dealing with. Use a payment method that suits the risk you are taking. We cannot recover your money and will not reimburse you.

6. Ratings

Members may rate each other after a confirmed sale. Ratings are the personal opinions of the members who leave them, not statements by us, and we do not verify them. We may remove a rating that breaks these terms, but we are not obliged to monitor them.

7. Prices shown on the Site

Asking prices are set by sellers. Sale prices in the price guide are reported by members about their own transactions and are not verified, audited or appraised by us. Nothing on the Site is a valuation, an appraisal, or advice about what a card is worth or what you should pay. See the Disclaimers.

8. Conduct

Do not use the Site to harass, deceive or defraud anyone. Do not scrape it, break it, work around its rate limits, or use it to collect members' details for any purpose other than completing a specific transaction with that member.

9. Moderation

We may hide a listing, place an account under review, or remove access altogether — with or without notice — if we believe these terms have been broken or a member is being harmed. We are not obliged to police the Site, and not acting in one case does not waive the right to act in another.

Members' own data is not destroyed when we do this: needs, listings and accounts are flagged rather than deleted, so a decision can be reversed.

10. Donations and affiliate links

The Site is free to use. There is no membership fee, no listing fee, and no commission on anything you buy or sell.

You may support the Site through the link in the account menu. If you do:

who does not;

where your cards appear, what you can see, or how you are treated in moderation. Every member sees the same site;

registered charity;

your payment provider.

Some pages link to eBay through the eBay Partner Network. If you buy through one of those links we may receive a commission, at no extra cost to you. Those links are labelled "Sponsored". We do not control eBay listings and are not responsible for them.

Neither of these makes us a party to a sale between members. Support money is a voluntary gift to whoever runs the Site, unconnected to any transaction on it; affiliate commission is paid by eBay for traffic, not by you, and not out of any member's sale.

11. Availability

The Site is provided as-is and may be unavailable, lose data, or stop existing. It is run as a hobby for a hobby group. Keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose.

12. Disclaimers and limits

The Disclaimers document forms part of these terms. In short, and to the fullest extent the law allows: the Site is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss arising from a transaction between members, from anything posted by a member, or from the Site being unavailable or wrong.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the total you have paid us (which is normally nothing) or US $100.

Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. You cover us for your own dealings

If someone brings a claim against us because of something you posted, something you did on the Site, or a transaction you entered into with another member, you will cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

14. Ending it

You may stop using the Site at any time and ask us to remove your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may end your access under section 9. Sections 2, 5, 7, 12 and 13 survive.

15. Changes

We may change these terms. If a change is material we will say so on the Site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Site after that is acceptance.

16. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, and disputes go to the courts of Texas.

17. Copyright and DMCA

Members upload photographs of their own cards. If something on the Site infringes your copyright, tell us and we will act on it.

The VBC Market has designated an agent to receive notifications of claimed infringement under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(2). That designation is registered with the United States Copyright Office and listed in its public DMCA Designated Agent Directory.
